Congratulations to the 2010 Award Recipients.
 
The annual presentation of awards reflects Recreation Connections Manitoba commitment to celebrate and publicly recognize recreation professionals and practitioners.  The awards are presented, in conjunction with the RCM Provincial Conference, at the President's Luncheon and Awards Ceremony.  The 2010 Award Recipients are:

  • Prairie Crocus Award  . . . Linda Yablonski
  • President Award for Outstanding Achievement . . . Making the Move to Healthy Choices Project Committee
  • Student Leadership Award . . . Belinda Wastesicoot, University College of the North Recreation Leadership Program

The Recreation Connections Manitoba Service Awards is a new catergory introduced in 2010.  It is an award that will be presented annually to recognize volunteers for years of service . . . the volunteers who support the work of Recreation Connections Manitoba on the various committees, task groups and special projects.
 
The following individuals were recognized for 2 - 4 years of services:
  • Colleen Plumton (University of Manitoba)
  • Kathleen Beaton (City of Brandon)
  • Amber Whitehead (Kelsey Recreation, The Pas)
  • Barb Pettapiece (Morris Area Recreation District)
  • Donna Watts (Brokenhead River Recreation Commission, Beausejour)
  • Rani Chisholm (City of Winnipeg Community Development and Recreation Services)
  • Frederick Soucy (University College of the North)
  • Ace Burpee
The following indiviudals were recognized for a minimum of 5 consecutive years of service:
  • Maria Swanson (City of Winnipeg Community Development and Recreation Services)
  • Faralee Wilson (MPETA)
  • Corey Burgess (City of Winnipeg Community Development and Recreation Services)
  • Faye Finch (Sport Manitoba)
  • Luisa Carnevale (City of Winnipeg Community Development and Recreation Services)

Honorable mention for her ongoing support and direction . . . Jocelyn MacLeod, Consultant, Manitoba Healthy Living, Youth and Seniors.
