Recreation Connections Manitoba is currently accepting youth nominations for the SOGO Active Team Manitoba, torch relay spot.  A team spot is a group of individuals who run with the Olympic torch for one relay leg.  A minimum of 17 youth, age 13 – 19 who are fully registered on SOGO Active, and who meet the criteria (see below for details), must be nominated by July 10, 2009.

This is a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity for our young Manitobans to become a part of history!

Youth need to be between the age of 13 and 19 at the time of registration and must be fully registered on www.sogoactive.comas an individual before being permitted to join the Team Manitoba group.

Please email trainingandevents@mts.net directly,  your recommended youth with a description on how they meet the following criteria no later than July 10, 2009.

You can nominate as many as you wish.  If your recommended youth are not yet registered with SOGO Active, have them register online at www.sogoactive.com today.  All youth must have their waiver accepted by a  parent or guardian if they are under the age of 18.  The waiver acceptance process is all done online.  Youth need to have an email address unique to their parent email address. Youth can sign up for free email accounts through hotmail or gmail if they currently do not have one.

There is no limit to the number of youth you can nominate.

The following is a list of criteria that the youth need to meet in order to be considered to be part of SOGO Active Team Manitoba:

·         Age 13 – 19 at the time of registration

·         Fully registered on www.sogoactive.com  (parental waiver approved)

·         Youth email address so Recreation Connections Manitoba can add youth to the SOGO Active Team Manitoba group!
